My Best Guy's Birthday

It's my best guy's birthday. How I wish I am there with him. I wanted to give him something special, watch movie and have dinner with him...something that would make his birthday memorable. But then, we're miles away from each other which makes it impossible to happen. Here goes my birthday message for him...

Happy, happy birthday, my baby! I am truly sorry for not being there. You know how much I wanted to spend the day with you. All I can do now is just reminisce how we spent your birthday last year. Do you remember my gift to you then? The comic book that you already have, and so I had to exchange it to the bookstore for another book, which I got from your wish list :p But eventhough I am not there with you, still, I want you to enjoy your day. Give yourself a break...you've been working so hard. Anyway, it's Sunday...just have fun (...but don't do anything that would break my heart :D). I love you sooooooooo much, baby! I can't wait to be with you again.

Love,
Karen

Oops...there's another special person celebrating his birthday today -- my loving brother, Gerald. He's such a wonderful person -- everyone who knows him would definitely agree. His loyalty to his friends is incomparable. He is very dedicated to his profession and really hardworking. He is responsible and supportive to his family. I miss him (and my other brother, Bob). Kuya, hope you're reading this...Happy, happy birthday to you! God bless and see you after 6 months (hehe!)

Da Bangs

It's 2AM already...still can't sleep. Thought of doing sumthing...said to myself, "Hmm...what if I cut my hair...for a change...bangs kaya!" Then I remembered a few years back when I did it one night. I was excited pa...it looked so nice (o maganda lang yung dating nung ilaw). The next morning, in front of the mirror while preparing myself...I screamed...then said to myself, "shux, panong ayos gagawin ko!?!" I still remember the different comments I got from my colleagues. There's one who said, "Parang may iba sayo...", "80s a!", "Parang kang highschool student..." The best comment I got was..."kumbaga sa color, neon ka"...DUH!

Anyway, to make the story short, I decided to try it for the second time. This time, I was really careful. Hindi na straight yung pag-cut, medyo pa-slant para may style, haha! So...there's no turning back...viola!!!

...O diba...naka-save pa ko ng SGD10 :p

Phuket, Thailand -- January 18 to 20, 2007

Phuket, Thailand -- one of the nicest places I've ever been with my one and only. Before he went back to Manila from his visit here in Singapore, we decided to have a short vacation to Thailand (to also celebrate 1st year and 8th month anniversary). We did not have that much pictures together, since there was nobody to take one for us :p But if I could only bring you all there to witness how beautiful the place was...why not!?! I'll post some pictures here...enjoy!

This picture was taken inside our suite (it's actually a junior suite). The door that you see behind us is the bedroom. Sayang, I can't find a nice picture inside the room, but I can say it's really clean and nicely decorated. There's also a television, refrigerator, and you can even cook inside. It was really big for the 2 of us that we can even play hide and seek :p There's also a balcony for the smokers, wherein you can have a nice view of the swimming pool. Our suite was on the 4th level...quite tough for those who hate the stairs :p

Next picture is my honey, while waiting for our lunch at the pool area. Though the picture doesn't fully show the swimming pool, the resort's pool is big enough to accomodate the guests, especially those families with kids. Just at the side of the pool is the bar where guests can also order some cocktails and foods. Across the pool bar, you can also find the resort's restaurant, wherein you can order local and western foods (most of the guests there are foreigners from the western countries). In our case, we prefer to try the local foods, which is a bit similar with what they usually serve in Manila (even the price -- very cheap!).

The beach was also good -- some say it's just like Boracay, but for me, Surin Beach is better. Maybe because there were no plastics floating in the water :p I also like the sand -- it felt so smooth while it touches my feet. I know there is a lot of beautiful places to go in Phuket, but since we only had 2 days (our flight on the 3rd day was soooooo early), we feel it's worth going back for a longer stay -- 1 week maybe.

Runaway Home

It's been soooo many months (and even years) since I had my last post, and I decided to update my blog again. A lot of things happened. From what I remember, I was still in Manila then...single and available...working in one of those known IT companies as Software Engineer...yup, a lot of things changed since then. As you can see from the picture...yes, still single, but not available anymore :p I already found my honey, somebody I would love, and would love me, for the rest of our lives. We're both happy, though we're miles away from each other. I am now working in Singapore, not a developer anymore -- away from my one and only. Everything happened so fast. We were together on the same company, being with his almost everyday, having lunch and dinner together, having the same company of friends. We were really happy and contented in everything.

One day, I got a call from Singapore that they were considering me for this certain position blah! blah! To make it short, I had the interview, got the job, resigned from my previous company, then I just realized that I'm already in Singapore. The pay is realy good compared when I was working in Manila, but then it's still different when you're with your family, friends, and most especially, with your loved one. I just miss all of them, and how I wish one day I would just wake up and see that I am finally home. Haaaay, if they only knew how I longed for that moment. I miss them all...I miss my honey so much...

BoRaCaY - Day 5: 20 October 2004 Wednesday

Finally, our last stay in Boracay. John Paul, Ekky, Sheila and I left the resort early. I'm a bit excited to leave coz I miss my family already, and can't wait to give my pasalubong to them. I bought shirts for my dad, mom and brothers; accessories for my cousins; and magnets for my friends. Syempre pinakamadaming pasalubong, my favorite nephew, Albert. I bought him shirt and magnets -- and brought him some puca shells for his aquarium :p

BoRaCaY - Day 4: 19 October 2004 Tuesday

Our 4th day in Boracay was such a busy day. Since it's our last day there, we wanted to make it the most exciting day.

First, we started the day by having breakfast at the beach with the whole AAT. Then after that, we went to the "talipapa" in Station 3, where we had our lunch, and also, buy some stuffs there. When we got back to Station 1, we just rest for a while then went straight to Puca Beach to enjoy the sunset view there. It was already late when we got back to the resort. At night, we went to Cocomanga's, a famous bar known for its 15 shot challenge: "15 SHOTS AND STILL STANDING".

BoRaCaY - Day 3: 18 October 2004 Monday

Tattoo Mania: One of the things you should experience when going to Boracay is the henna tattoo. It's so artistic and I find it really cool. I actually got 2 -- butterfly and lizard. Funny thing, "manong" became our friend pa :p So discounted kme by 20 bucks for each tattoo.
